Climecon reached a significant milestone by eliminating direct operational emissions in 2025, moving away from light fuel oil in production through facility modernisation. The company achieved a 65% reduction in market-based Scope 2 emissions by transitioning to renewable district heating – equivalent to removing roughly 726,339 kilometres of car travel from the atmosphere each year. The company continues advancing its Science Based Targets commitment aligned with the Paris Agreement's 1.5°C goal. Strategic investment in equipment for the Pihtipudas factory temporarily increased Scope 3 emissions but will deliver long-term efficiency gains in energy and material use per unit produced.
