Roof cowl

KONTIO roof hoods for exhaust and inlet air represent Scandinavian design and have been tested in the challenging Nordic climate conditions. Together with OTSO roof hoods they form an elegant entity with a unified style. The KONTIO roof hoods have a rectangular form – a groove in the middle strengthens the outer shell and gives them an exceptionally solid structure. Structural heights are very low, which also reduces the wind loads and enhances their appearance; a horizontal groove in the middle provides a visual break on the otherwise uniform structure, making the roof hoods look even shallower. The surface treatment of Climecon’s roof hoods meets corrosivity class C4, well sustaining the toughest climatic conditions.

Low profile, Scandinavian design
Very low structural height and a horizontal groove reduce wind loads and give the hood a slender, elegant appearance.
Exceptionally solid construction
A groove in the middle reinforces the outer shell and ensures an exceptionally rigid, robust structure.
Corrosivity class C4
The surface treatment meets corrosivity class C4 and withstands the toughest climatic conditions.
KONTIO-U for exhaust air
At a low pressure loss it fulfils the required air velocity and directs the exhaust air only upwards. Note: if the exhaust is off in winter, accumulated snow and ice must be removed so their weight does not damage the structure.
KONTIO-S for inlet air
Air is drawn in from the sides and the underside. Flow velocity after the outer shell is very low, producing a 100 % separation rate and effectively preventing snow from entering.
Optional fire resistance EI30/EI60/EI120
The hood can be fitted with a fire-rated roof transition KL30/KL60/KL120 (class EI30, EI60 or EI120). PAROC Hvac Fire Slab (60 mm) is used as fire insulation.
Three connection methods
The hood connects via a rain cover (S), a flange (L) or a male connector (T, only Ø < 500 mm). For sizes 800×400 and 800×300 a coupling connector (IT) can also be used. The rain cover is factory-made to fit the outlet, so all seams between the hood and the cover are reliably sealed against moisture.
Factory-made roof transition
The Climecon roof transition is factory-made, sheltered from the weather and designed for the specific connection method. It is fixed to a load-bearing roof structure with the included L lists (80×80×15); the upper connection always matches the hood, the lower one is chosen separately.
EPD-verified carbon footprint
The carbon footprint of the roof hoods has been calculated as part of the EPD environmental product declaration.
