The technology measures indoor air in the kitchen using several variables, providing reliable information on the kitchen's utilization rate, allowing ventilation to adjust automatically based on actual kitchen activity rather than running at constant maximum capacity. This approach delivers substantial energy efficiency gains. With OptiDemand, the energy use of professional kitchen ventilation can be reduced by up to 50%. The savings come from three sources: reduced ventilation unit energy consumption, heating energy savings, and cooling energy savings. The system integrates seamlessly with building automation through ModBus connections and works with Climecon hoods and ventilation ceilings to meet sustainable building certifications including LEED and BREEAM.
